Regular car cleaning is an extremely important activity. Neat interior improves our mood and upholstery does not deteriorate so quickly. Unfortunately, very few people like to do it. We should remember that the more neglected the car is, the more time it takes to clean it. Greasy stains, food residues, or a muddy floor are things that are hard to clean

How do you prepare for cleaning your car?

If you are not an expert, it is advisable to plan everything carefully. If your car has been neglected or the last time it was cleaned was six months ago, it is extremely important to use the proper detergents. This is especially true if you have greasy stains on the upholstery, or if the floor is stained and has food residue on it. Many people use soapy water or diluted dishwashing liquid to clean their car. These are not the best cleaning agents. They can cause micro-damage to the car interior. There are plenty of detergents on the market to help clean your car more effectively

A short guide to cleaning your car

The following is a step-by-step description of how to clean your car. The sequence of steps is crucial because many people do it inefficiently. They usually wash the interior of the car first and then vacuum. This is a very big mistake, because when vacuuming, dust particles settle on the just cleaned surface

  1. Carpet cleaning

Before cleaning the interior of the car, it is recommended to take the rugs out of the vehicle and thoroughly shake them, and then vacuum them. If you use rubber ones, you should rinse them thoroughly, clean them with a rubber cleaner, then wipe them with a cloth and let them dry. In the case of fabric rugs, it is recommended to wash them and then dry them thoroughly.

  1. Vacuuming the interior of the car

Nowadays, there are a number of accessories available on the market with which you can vacuum your car. What’s more, you don’t need to have several accessories, because there are multifunctional vacuum cleaners that work well both at home and in the car. When vacuuming your car, start by cleaning shelves and hard-to-reach areas. Finally, the floor and rugs should be vacuumed. While cleaning, it’s a good idea to change the nozzles of the vacuum cleaner, as too hard nozzles can damage the car’s cockpit

  1. Stain removal

The next step is to clean the visible stains on the car’s upholstery. For this purpose, you should use specialized products available on the market. Stains can also be removed by home methods – using extraction gasoline or diluted dishwashing liquid. However, they do not guarantee that they will remove the dried up dirt. A much better method is to purchase special products designed for this type of dirt

  1. Car headliner

It is an often forgotten part of the car, and it gets dirty just like other parts of the car. It absorbs water vapor and food odors. The headliner should be cleaned with a product designed for upholstery. The best solution is a liquid one. It should be cleaned gently so as not to tear it off

  1. Cleaning the cockpit and plastic parts

The next step is to clean the plastic cockpit, dashboard, gear knob and air vents. For this purpose, it is recommended to use special products that have not only cleaning properties, but also care properties. We must remember that plastic parts accumulate the most dust, sand particles, and bacteria. The vents, on the other hand, can be easily vacuumed. All you need for this is a vacuum cleaner and a soft brush. The tube of the device should be put into the holes, and sweep the dirt with a brush. When cleaning, you can use compressed air

  1. Cleaning windows

It is recommended to clean windows with a soft sponge and special liquid. In turn, it is not recommended to use sprays, because part of the preparation ends up on the upholstery. Such cleaning is ineffective and may additionally discolor delicate elements
