  5. Wipe the blinds with a soft cloth. Make sure there are no protruding parts, as it is very easy to scratch the lamellas.

If you have a pressure washer, go ahead and use it. Remember to do everything gently, making sure that the water pressure is not too high

Clean the seals at least once a year with a soft, damp cloth. Regular cleaning will prevent them from hardening. This is the ideal time to use a preservative. Products for window and car seals can help.

Tapes and cords are used on a daily basis, therefore most dirt is deposited on these elements. If you want to take care of their aesthetic appearance, you can use a bit of washing powder or a few drops of washing-up liquid.

You might be tempted to treat the bottom rubber seal with a lubricant. This is ideal before the upcoming winter and cold temperatures. However, before you do this, make sure you remove the snow from the window sill. Also, do not use water-based preservatives during the winter.

When should I clean my blinds?

It is best to wash your blinds in the period when there are no frosts. If you choose to wash your blinds with a damp cloth it is possible that they do not have enough time to dry and the individual parts freeze in the low temperatures. If you live in an area with high concentrations of smog try to avoid installing bright blinds. They will then require frequent cleaning and keeping them in good shape can be problematic
