Smartphones and smartwatches often come with the ability to use NFC. Not sure what to use it for? How can it make your everyday life easier? We check it out!
NFC in the phone (Near Filend Communication) is a special technology that allows data transfer over a short distance. Most often it works between devices that are up to 20 centimeters apart. It is slightly different from Bluetooth because NFC is based on magnetic induction.
NFC on your phone can help you connect to another device wirelessly. This is useful if, for example, you want to pay for groceries in a store using a contactless banking app. You need to turn on the NFC module (if your smartphone has it) and then put the phone to the terminal.
Scanning tickets or transferring data between devices works in a similar way. All you have to do is to bring the devices closer to each other and that’s it! It should be noted, however, that transfer of files or multimedia between phones can take quite a long time, because the bandwidth is not too high.
Due to the fact that transactions carried out with NFC on the phone work over a short distance, it is a safe solution. To be able to take full advantage of this solution, you need to check before you buy whether your smartphone or smartwatch has such a module at all.
