Packing for a trip with a baby – proven tricks

The holiday season is in full swing, and that means it’s time to start packing for your vacation trip. How to do it when your travel companions are also your kids? There are a few proven tricks.

Packing before a holiday trip is quite a challenge. Why? There are several factors that come into play, including the purpose of our trip, the amount of time we will spend on vacation, the places we plan to visit, and how many members of our family are going on the trip. If children are traveling with us, packing should be especially thoughtful.

How to effectively pack for a trip with a child? We suggest

Before we start packing, it is best to make a list of things that we should and want to take with us on vacation. Thanks to this we will be sure that we will not miss any of them

Certainly the indispensable during a trip, which we should take with us to the car, is hand luggage, as well as a first-aid kit – it should include, among others, plasters, a small bandage, also creams with a strong sunscreen. What else? It is best to classify the things that we need to pack. Let’s start with the documents. Packing our baby, let’s take his health book with us, it’s better to be cautious and in case of emergency (such as acute food poisoning) have the right documents to go to the doctor of first contact. If it is a trip abroad, an identity card or a passport of the child will be necessary. We should also always have a cell phone and its charger in our hand luggage

Lots of change of clothes – children like to get dirty

And when it comes to clothes, which ones are best to pack? Depending on how old our child is, we should take a few shirts for him to change into. In summer, when the weather is hot, you should change clothes and underwear more often. When packing a baby, do not forget about pajamas, tracksuits, long and short shorts. If you go with a daughter, let’s take her dresses too, you never know where we will have to go, and in the end on vacation our child should feel special. Comfortable shoes are also important. If you are planning to relax on the beach, flip-flops or sandals will be perfect, and if you are going to traverse mountain trails, good sneakers with a strong sole can prove to be invaluable

When we have prepared all the things from our list, it’s time to start packing. At this point, however, the question arises how to do it in order to save as much space as possible and fit everything you want to take. An important issue is choosing the right luggage, bag, suitcase. Things, as we mentioned, should be prepared in advance, sorted, so that only their proper arrangement in the suitcase or bag remains. Folding clothes with the right technique is the key to comfortable packing for all family members. Things with non-standard shapes, like shoes, and heavier clothing are best placed at the bottom of your luggage. Fill the free space between items with soft clothing items, such as socks. Then you should put towels and cosmetics, and on top of that things that are resistant to creasing – best rolled up. On them we can put accessories that we will use most often, such as sunglasses, but it is worth wrapping them at least with some tissue.
