Aromatherapy is becoming increasingly popular. More proponents are quickly becoming convinced of the valuable properties of essential oils, which not only relax and support the body during rest, but also stimulate action. An ingenious variety of daily household chores is to make scented ironing water. Such a spray will facilitate the very activity, give clothes a beautiful scent and improve our mood thanks to essential oils.

Which essential oil to choose?

Essential oils can be used at home in many ways. The most popular way is to use aromatherapy fireplaces. The properties and scent of the oils can be selected according to the individual preferences of the inhabitants.

Among the light and enticing oils it is worth paying attention to the oil:

  • rose,
  • geranium,
  • jasmine,
  • neroli,
  • bergamot.

Warming oils include:

  • pine,
  • fir,
  • vanilla,
  • clove.

On the other hand, refreshing and stimulating oils are considered:

Recipe for fragrant ironing water

Essential oils are worth using at home not only as fragrances, but also during everyday activities. Some oils show antibacterial, bacteriostatic and disinfecting properties, so we can successfully add them to household natural detergents. By using tea tree essential oil, we get rid of viruses and bacteria. The oil has a strong antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect. Lemon oil has antiseptic and antibacterial effects. Lavender oil neutralizes bacteria that lead to various skin irritations and infections. It is also worth having eucalyptus oil at home which has an antibacterial and antiviral effect.

If you already know the properties of particular essential oils, you can choose the one with the help of which you will make fragrant water for ironing. To prepare a homemade spray we need:

  • 250 ml of water,
  • 5-10 drops of chosen essential oil,
  • 20 ml of alcohol (can be vodka),
  • a bottle with an atomizer.

Making water for ironing is not complicated and does not take much time. Pour alcohol into the bottle and add a few drops of the selected essential oil. The number of drops depends on how intense a scent you want to achieve. For the iron spray, it is best to choose oils from:

  • lemon,
  • tea tree,
  • grapefruit,
  • eucalyptus,
  • lavender,
  • rosemary.

After mixing alcohol and oil in the bottle, add water and shake. The spray is immediately ready for use.

Scented water for irons not only provides clothes with a beautiful fragrance, but also makes ironing easier. Thanks to such a home remedy creases will be straightened out faster. Spray is especially useful when ironing cotton clothes and textiles.
