Spring is definitely the best time to cleanse the body. We do it first of all in order to get rid of the unwanted remains after the winter. If we do it the right way, our body will smoothly switch to the spring eating mode – with vitamins instead of excess fatty and sweet elements of the menu.

Comprehensive cleansing of the body

Despite appearances, “spring cleaning of the body” is not just a diet or even starvation. It should be approached holistically: take care not only of the menu, but also of proper hydration, supplementation and exercise in the fresh air. It’s important to be consistent on your way to achieving your goals, but it’s also important to act in moderation so that you don’t put your body through health problems.

Important: Take care of your liver!

It is necessary, above all, to take care of the condition of your liver. This organ will be particularly exposed to the negative effects of, for example, starvation. Especially if you have other problems with it, you should reach for strengthening preparations. Most often, however, getting rid of fatty foods, coffee and sweets from the menu will improve the liver’s performance on its own.

Which diet to cleanse the body?

Most often two diet solutions are chosen:

  • starvation – unfortunately, it is not a safe solution for the body. First of all, prolonged starvation leads to deterioration of liver function parameters;
  • high-fiber diet – high fiber content speeds up the metabolism. We provide it to the body, for example, by eating brown rice and wholemeal bread

What to eat and what to avoid during spring cleansing? The products to avoid have already been mentioned. We should avoid coffee, cigarettes, sweets, cakes and fatty foods. What should be consumed instead? First of all:

  • carrots,
  • beets,
  • citrus fruits,
  • goji berries,
  • lettuce,
  • kale,
  • brussels sprouts,
  • broccoli,
  • foods rich in fiber,
  • high-fat marine fish (source of n-3 fatty acids),
  • milk,
  • yogurt,
  • cheeses.

Cleansing teas – it is worth drinking them in the spring

A popular way to support the cleansing body is to drink health-promoting teas. Which of them are the most valuable? Specifically, preparations containing:

  • purgative – a southern herb that contains polyphenols, helps remove free radicals from the body, supports immunity and reduces the chance of cancer. Spotted purge tea promotes better bowel function;
  • white mulberry – tea made from it supports the body in fighting fever and has a diuretic effect, which promotes cleansing the body of unwanted substances;
  • field horsetail – drinking infusions with field horsetail, thanks to the silicon content of this plant, has a good effect on the condition of hair, skin and nails.

Herbs that are worth eating

The food we eat should also be very rich in herbs that promote the removal of toxins from the body. Some of them have a bactericidal or warming effect. We are talking especially about:

It is very important to support the spring cleaning of the body with a large dose of exercise in the fresh air.
