If we read the compositions of the drinks we buy, after this review of the periodic table, we begin to think about buying a juicer. Stores offer a range of similar equipment with different parameters, functions and even appearance.

Healthy juice

The taste of freshly squeezed juice is completely different from the store’s, as anyone who has tried it at least once knows. It is less clear, it has particles of fruit, moreover it is worth mentioning its qualities – in its composition there are no preservatives, artificial colouring and other unhealthy additives. We know exactly what we consume, a nice change is also the fact that we create our own taste compositions, choosing such vegetables and fruits that we just feel like.

Which one to choose?

Before you decide which juicer to choose, think about what you actually want – how much juice you’re going to produce, how often you’re going to use it, what you’re going to make it with. If you’re only going to be juicing citrus, choose a juicer designed for citrus.

You should also think about the frequency with which you will need this equipment. If you’re not going to be using it very often, you might want to think about a foldable product that fits into one of your cupboards or a smaller size so it doesn’t clutter up your kitchen. If, on the other hand, you’re going to be using it a lot, you should buy a device with more power, more efficiency and a bigger waste container

Space

If you’ve been thinking about buying a couple of new appliances for your kitchen, but you’re worried that you won’t have a place to put them, it’s worth considering a combined solution, as stores also offer, for example, a food processor with a juicer. This option is more expensive, but it allows us to save on the space used

What to pay attention to?

On the parameters of the chosen product. The sieve, power, revolutions, opening, size of the waste container, sometimes it is also good to look at the noise level. It is also good to choose a proven equipment, from a good company (e.g. Philips). See which juicer to choose.

Strainer

It is necessary that it is made of stainless steel and not plastic, otherwise you will have to constantly clean it, even during operation. Plastic is also not durable, so we will not be able to enjoy the device for years. We will have to deal with plastic in cheaper versions.

Power

Usually in these devices, the power of the motor varies from 200 to 1000 watts. If we intend to process fruits and vegetables with different degrees of hardness, we need to choose the one with higher power (above 400 W). Juicers with higher power are equipped with two drives: the lower one is designed for soft vegetables and fruits (e.g. raspberries), the higher one for hard ones (e.g. beet).

Rotation

We have learned that the highest RPMs allow us to get what we want in a short amount of time. With juicers, it is not so easy. At higher RPMs, the resulting juice loses the vitamins and trace elements we care about, so it’s a good idea to switch to a lower speed.

Hole

In the model we choose, we also need to look at the opening into which we are going to throw the fruit. In some juicers, where the opening is smaller, we can put only fruits and vegetables cut into smaller pieces. Therefore, it is more convenient and time-saving to buy one with a larger opening to fit whole fruits.

Is the choice easy?

Not at all. It is not that simple to decide which juicer to choose. There is such a huge price range of juicers on the market that the choice cannot be easy. Prices range from 70 all the way up to 900 PLN! However, there is no need to panic, we must be guided by our needs, look at the brand, offered functions and proposed parameters. Higher prices apply to devices with enormous power (even 1500 W), but we should consider whether we really need such a devil in the kitchen for home conditions.

It is also worth taking a look at the product description for various small additions, such as a spout-cap, which can be turned upside down, so that the rest of the liquid does not drip on our countertop, or the attached container for the outflowing juice.
