Quick way to make homemade butter

All you need to make homemade butter is cream, which can be purchased at any store. Making butter yourself is very easy.

The fattier the whipping cream, the better the butter will be. That’s why it’s a good idea to make homemade butter from 36% cream, although butter from 30% cream will also work. If you have access to real, fatty country cream – that’s great, such butter will be delicious. In some stores you can also find 42% cream, which is perfect for making homemade butter.

The cream must be chilled for at least a few hours in the refrigerator before whipping. Depending on the fat content, 2 l of cream yields about 500 g of homemade butter.

Preparing homemade butter

Preparing homemade butter from cream is very simple. Just pour the cream into a bowl (preferably plastic or glass) and whip until the cream curdles and lumps form which separate from the buttermilk. You can whip the cream in a food processor or Thermomix. If you don’t have one, you can whip the butter with a whisk. You can also make homemade butter in a regular jar. Just pour the cream into the jar, cap it and shake it very vigorously for at least several minutes.

The buttermilk that will precipitate while whipping should be poured off (you can use it for pancakes, bread or cake). The lumps of butter that will form should be shaped into a ball, put into a strainer and rinse several times with running water – to get rid of the remaining buttermilk.

You can also put the butter in a plastic or glass dish with water and rinse until very clear.

Once the butter is rinsed of any remaining buttermilk, then let it sit on a sieve to drain. You can add salt to the butter. Then shape it, put it in an airtight box and put it in the refrigerator.

Garlic butter

Garlic butter is a very popular product used on toast, toast, or plain bread. Preparing homemade garlic butter is very simple.

When the butter is already washed out of the buttermilk, then just add per 100g of butter about 3-4 cloves of garlic squeezed through a press, salt, pepper, 2 tablespoons of dried parsley or dried dill and mix well.

For homemade butter, instead of garlic you can add your favorite herbs or spices.

Homemade butter with Thermomix

Thermomix has recently become a very popular equipment in many homes. Making butter in this device is trivially easy. Just put on the butterfly, pour in the cream and mix for about 1 minute on speed 4. Then such butter should be put into a sieve lined with gauze.

Homemade butter is tastier and healthier than the one available in the store. The taste of this butter takes us back to the wonderful time of carefree childhood.
